Happy Month of Love! Love is love and all love should be celebrated!

As we step into the month of love, we potatoes are buzzing with excitement and warmth, eager to spread the love far and wide. Valentine's season isn't just a day in our calendar; it's a whole month dedicated to celebrating love in all its forms! Whether it's love for a partner, the bond of friendship, connection with family, self-love, etc. February is our official shout-out to love!

Let's be real, the world could always use a bit more love, as clichéd as that may sound, it is true. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, we potatoes like to view this season as a time to pause and appreciate the love that surrounds us, to be mindful, and to not only focus on the love we have for each other, but to spend time on self-care and self-love.

Now, we know Valentine's Day can stir up a mix of emotions. For some, it's a day filled with romance and sweet gestures, while for others, it might bring a sense of loneliness or reflection on loves lost. Here we believe this season is for everyone, no matter your relationship status or feelings about the day. It's a time to embrace love in all its diversity, including self-love, which, let's face it, is the very foundation of love!

So, what's on the agenda for us potatoes this month? Well, for starters, we're diving into some of our favorite romantic movies! From the classics that make our hearts flutter to the modern tales that redefine love, we're ready to experience it all. And yes, a box of tissues will be on standby for those heart-melting moments!

But it's not all about the screen and pages; we're also big fans of expressing love through acts of kindness. We have found that the power of a kind word, a simple note, a message, text or gesture can really make someone’s day better, and why not be a light amidst the darkness? Why not spread kindness and compassion during the season of love. We can do it for others, as well as ourselves, and it can make all the difference.

As we already know here…we potatoes love a theme, and we love food. We are not sure just yet what food we will be making this season…we do not know if we are going to go with something more traditional or make something more interesting. We are still in discussions, but we will take pictures and you will all get to see if it interests you!

We also greatly enjoy gift giving! It is a major love language for one us potatoes in particular. We do not go crazy this time of year, but we like to exchange small gifts and cards. We recognize that during this crazy time that we are living in, money is tight, and it has not been that long since the holiday season. Be kind to yourself, and do what is right for you and your budget. We will not be exchanging anything expensive ourselves, and we typically cook our own special meals. This time of year can get incredibly bogged down by consumerism, and pressure. We can show love to ourselves and the people we care about without buying diamonds.

This season can be tough all around. If you're navigating heartache, grief, or spending the season solo, remember that you are not alone in this. Please be gentle with yourself, and try your best to prioritize your well-being. Practice self-care when you can, treat yourself to something you love, be it a cozy night in, a pampering session, a gift, or diving into a hobby that brings you joy. Your worth isn't defined by your relationship status at all. Self-love, and self-care are not always easy but they are worth it. You are worth your own time, and your own love.

So, whether you're basking in romantic bliss, celebrating the love of friends and family, or embracing the healing and extremely important journey of self-love, let's make this season of love one for the books! Let's fill it with compassion, self-acceptance, laughter, and a generous sprinkle of kindness, creating memories that warm our hearts long after February ends.

Here's to a February filled with love, in all its beautiful, messy, and glorious forms! May your month be as sweet as a box of chocolates and as warm as a heated blanket. Cheers to love in all of its forms and cheers to you! Happy month of Love!

What do you like to celebrate during this time of year? What are your favorite traditions? Have you come up with any new or different traditions? What do you think of this season? What movies or shows do you think we should watch? Any and all thoughts are welcome! Let us know down in the comments and always remember to be safe and take care of you!
